We do not Jailbreak for the latest versions of iOS, and you are not expected either. If you like to customize your iPhone and you are biting your nails for not being able to do it, we are going to show you a way in which you can give a special touch to your iPhone without depending on the Jailbreak.
Like all customization methods that exist without having to jailbreak, this one isn't perfect, and it takes a bit of work, but hey, nothing great either, we've been messing around a bit and we've made 3 themes in about Few minutes.
So you can install themes on an iPhone without Jailbreak
To install the themes you will have to access the page that we linked in the first step from the iPhone, we will guide you through the entire process, the truth is that it is very simple, but the web is not exactly a design prodigy, so We are going to make things a little easier for you by describing step by step how to do everything.
Step 1- Access the iSkin website from your iPhone.
Step 2- Scroll down a bit and you will find several options to find cool themes. We have used the first “Browse all themes”, to see them all.
Step 3:– Now you will be seeing the main photo of each of the themes. Look at something important, the number inside the red circle in each of them indicates the number of App icons available for that theme. It is convenient to choose one that has a good amount.
Step 4- When you see one that you like, tap on its name to enter its installation page. Scroll down until you see the section InstallTheme.
Step 5- Ok, we are seeing 3 sections Lock screens, Home Screens and Application icons. Enter the first and second to download the appropriate wallpapers for your iPhone, if there are several models you will see them ordered and you can choose the appropriate size for yours. To download them all you have to do is hold the photo for a while and choose “Save Photo” from the pop-up menu.
Now go to the third section “application icons”. here you have to choose icons that you want installed in your theme. You just have to touch on them to select them.
When you select one you will also have the option to rename it if you want.
Step 6- When you finish selecting, just below the last icon, you will see a button that says Install Icons, tap on it.
Step 7- Wait a few seconds until the website finishes its work, when it does, your iPhone settings will open automatically and you will enter the section install profiles. Tap on the Install option, which you will see at the top right of the screen.
Step 8- iOS will warn you that the profile is not signed, it's a security measure, but don't worry, only icons will be installed. Hit Install again and confirm the installation.
Once you have finished the installation you will be returned to the iSkin page. Now you just have to hit the Home button to return to your home screen and you will see the new icons installed.
To finish off the issue you will have to put the ones you downloaded in step 5 as wallpaper, and you will have something like this…
If you get tired of the theme you just have to uninstall the profile by going to Settings/General/Profile, select the profile you want to delete and click the uninstall button, the icons will disappear immediately.
Some inconvenients…
We already told you at the beginning that this is not perfect, it is not a Cydia issue, just a fix, and as such it has some gaps.
- It is very possible that you will not find any theme that includes all the applications that you have installed on your iPhone.
- The original icons of the applications will still be there, they are not replaced, so you will have to hide them in a folder.
- Some icons do not work as they should, for example we have not been able to launch the phone to make a call with any of the themes we have tried...
Of course, with a little time you can come up with a theme that has enough icons to fill the first screen of your iPhone, which after all is the one we use the most, and have a totally different look on your iPhone.
