The locked screen only has one function that needs to be applied in the grid of Settings or Configuration. If the phone is not being used, it can be configured to turn off in a limited time, for this we will know how to do it.
Lock screen with limited time
The lock option can be purchased automatically While the phone is not being used, several seconds may pass and it will be blocked, or this function may last much longer if we modify its duration.
For this we go to Settings > Display and brightness > Auto lock.
Within this option you can choose the time limits for your blocking:
- 30 seconds
- 1 minute
- 2 minutes
- 3 minutes
- 4 minutes
- 5 minutes
Keep in mind that if the iPhone is activated in sleep mode "Low consumption" the screen will be locked in 30 seconds and that cannot be changed. The phone does it by default in order to save the mobile battery.

Another option that can be chosen is to “Always On Screen” inside the settings "Screen and brightness". This adjustment consists of not totally blocking the screen, but it will simply go dark or remain inactive, but when there is a notification it will show all the useful information, such as the time and widgets.

The Touch ID function is the use of the fingerprint. You can set this lock feature first with a security code. You need to set this function with a single fingerprint for security reasons. This service is only allowed for some iPhone models.
- We came in Settings > Touch ID & Passcode.
- If it asks for a code, you have to enter “unlock code”.
- Click on the function “Touch ID” > “add fingerprint”.

Lock screen with Face ID feature
The screen will be locked whenever it has its function activated, but if we want to use the Face ID function the facial area will be used. This function is available on the iPhone X and on the iPhone 14 versions. To do this, you must configure Face ID on your device:
- Enter Settings or the Settings > go to Face ID and access codes.
- Act quickly. enter security code or create one when needed.
- Press "Begin" and another screen will appear with a frame around it where the camera will ask you to center the face within the frame.
- Center the face well and move it around the circle until all their little eyelashes turn green. If they turn green, it will be because the scan of that area has finished. When all the tabs are colored, click on the "Continue" part.
- You have to repeat a second time to re-scan the face.
- When finished, click on "finish".
How to lock screen with security code
It is another way to have our screen locked and have access to our iPhone through a security code. In order to access their services you will have to enter a security code that we will elaborate with the following steps.
- Accede to "Configuration" or "Settings" of the telephone.
- Swipe and look for the option in the list “Touch ID and code”. In other cases it would be “Face ID and code”.
- If you do not have the code activated you must configure it. press on "Activate access code" and enter the key number that you will use to unlock the screen of your device.
- If you already had a code activated and want to change the code, select “Change code”. To be able to change it you will have to first enter the old code that was used, then it will be possible enter the new code.
Do you want to control notifications and information on the lock screen?
If you want to always have the screen locked, but without having to miss notifications, you can access various features like widgets, media playback controls, and the control center. This function will allow certain notifications, but it will not be allowed to manage USB connections.
Care must be taken when accessing this function. The screen will be locked and while you have the phone anywhere and at rest, someone will be able to access what is displayed on the screen and read what is reported.
